the TV cutaway shots of Italian players so upset wereheartbreaking. So much passion goes into this sport. SPAIN’s Captain, Iker Casillas is the man!! But 4 real its obvious Spain seems to have an immense TEAM mentality, not individualistic. Truly Winners. WOW. What a game! What a run!

Shakira who is dating Spanish soccer player Pique (blogs have been going nuts with pregnancy rumours both in Spain & North America)
The real fun is following Shakira’s twitter account. She tweeted a pic from Euro saying (translated) : “in Ukraine following The Red, this groupie thing can be very tiring!” with a picture. He also tweets pics of them together and on dates - both fun to follow for soccer fans interested in players lives beyond the pitch!
There’s also a really cute viral video caught on YouTube of Shakira blowing him a kiss and he looks so happy blowing one back and laughing! watch it here.

I guess Spain eased off their ban on players using Twitter. In June Cesc Fabreger posted “From oday we are not allowed to use social networks, I wish that the next picture I post will be with the Euro Cup. See you soon!” but since then he’s posted pix of the stadium, going on for dinner with his grandparents, and most recently it seems he recruited his team mate Pinto onto twitter!

Do you ever wonder what happens in a locker room once a team is out?
Well, According to the Associated Press, the French locker room broke into a scrap after their loss. One of the team’s senior players Florent Malouda said “there was a risk of launching rockets and missiles.” While their coach Laurent Blanc said “Yes, it got a bit heated, but then very one had a cold shower.”
This weekend, Laurent Blanc stepped down as France’s head soccer coach as tensions continue to rise and players are questioned on their behaviour.Las mujeres de la “roja” // The women of “red”

Spanish WAG’s get featured in the spanish version of ELLE Magazine as “The women in Red” playing on the soccer jersey colour.

Before last week’s pivotal (and dare I say, surprising) Germany/Italy EURO 2012 game last week…German blogs were buzzing with more news about German soccer star Sami Khedira’s girlfriend. Lena Gercke was shown the YELLOW CARD - for being TOO SEXY!

She was asked by German FA to tone down her appearance when taking her place in the stand for the semi-final games. Apparently her sexy wardrobe was making the other WAGs jealous the -drama is causing a distraction and moral issues for the players in the locker room.

Inevitable Germany suffered a surprising loss to the Italians - although the moral issues are all speculation and Lena is not to be blamed at all, in my opinion - it no doubt is raising questions on wether or not WAGs should be allowed to be such a close distraction during these high-pressure games. Remember the previous management for England had put a ban on WAGs attending the games?? hmmm…thoughts?
